Canonical seeks an Accountant to join its growing finance division and help prepare the business for an upcoming IPO. The position is open either as an office-based role in London or as a remote position within EMEA time zones. Team members participate in distributed collaboration, with groups gathering in person two to four times annually in international locations to coordinate strategy and execution. Canonical is founder-led, profitable, and expanding.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the month end reporting cycle to produce accurate and timely data
- Manage ledger processes aligned with personal strengths
- Assist with statutory reporting and the year end audit
- Support wider finance initiatives aimed at IPO preparation
- Enhance financial procedure efficiency and oversee compliance
- Cross-train with colleagues to maintain operational coverage
- Keep current on applicable regulations and standards through skills development
- Build collaborative relationships with colleagues outside the finance department
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification
- Qualified accountant status such as ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CPA
- Experience with enterprise grade systems like NetSuite
- Availability to travel up to four times yearly
