Saiia is seeking an Accountant to handle various financial and accounting duties remotely. This role involves recording transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) guidelines. The Accountant will prepare bank reconciliations, post journal entries, review and process invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and manage credit card transactions. Additional duties include gathering data for internal and external audits, compiling sales and use tax returns, and meeting weekly with a Senior Accountant regarding payment selections.

Responsibilities
- Prepare bank reconciliations and post journal entries
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts while preparing month-end workpapers
- Review, process, and follow up on invoice approvals
- Handle accounts payable inquiries and reconcile vendor statements
- Post cash receipts and reconcile credit card transactions
- Meet weekly with a Senior Accountant for payment selection
- Prepare sales and use tax returns
- Collect and organize records for internal and external audits
- Apply SOX guidelines to maintain accurate financial controls and segregation of duties
Requirements
- Three to five years of accounting experience
- Familiarity with the construction industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience using Sage 300 Construction Software
