As an Accounting Associate, you will handle routine bookkeeping, prepare financial reports, manage payroll, and complete U.S. corporate and individual tax returns. The role requires operating from a home office while aligning work hours with U.S. Eastern Time, and travel may be required. Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding new clients and establishing accounting system setups
- Handle daily bookkeeping duties including accounts payable and receivable, monthly closings, and report generation
- Utilize company software to accurately perform reporting, tax, and accounting tasks
- Prepare payroll, sales tax filings, depreciation schedules, and related documents
- Participate in audits and reconciliations to verify financial accuracy
- Evaluate financial figures to estimate revenue and measure profit margins
- File U.S. individual and corporate income tax returns along with year-end documents and 1099s
- Investigate complex accounting and tax matters to deliver practical solutions
- Participate in special projects and financial report creation
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in fields such as accounting, finance, economics, or business
- Bring at least 2 years of professional background in accounting, auditing, or tax
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in Business English
- Show an ability to perform sophisticated data analysis and handle ambiguous situations
- Maintain high organization, multi-tasking abilities, and attention to detail
- Work from a home office during U.S. Eastern Time zones and travel if requested
Qualifications
- Possession of a Turkish CPA (SMMM) License
- Prior background in outsourced accounting services
- Familiarity with U.S. GAAP standards
- Experience using accounting software systems
