GHJ seeks an Accounts Payable Accountant/Auditor for a remote, full-time position compensating between $30 and $36 per hour. The professional selected will support a food manufacturing organization during a key process improvement initiative focused on its accounts payable operations. This role suits detail-oriented individuals with strong analytical capabilities who enjoy investigating transactions to solve processing bottlenecks.
The primary mandate centers on reviewing invoice and transaction exceptions, determining the underlying reasons for processing breakdowns, and boosting automation and first-time processing percentages inside SAP. The incumbent will perform thorough reconciliations, study discrepancies, and formulate workflow and system recommendations. Additional duties include collaborating with accounts payable groups and various departments to address ongoing problems and establishing reporting metrics related to transaction exceptions.
Responsibilities
- Audit accounts payable transactions and invoices to spot processing failures and repeated exceptions
- Determine root causes of problems spanning SAP, vendors, buyers, receivers, and operational workflows
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at raising automated and first-time invoice processing percentages
- Execute comprehensive reconciliations and examine discrepancies
- Recognize patterns and find areas for workflow enhancement
- Collaborate with accounts payable and cross-functional partners to fix recurring issues
- Assist in creating reporting and performance metrics regarding transaction exceptions and workflow efficiency
- Propose system, process, workflow, training, and vendor compliance enhancements
- Monitor corrective measures and assess if deployed solutions enhance performance
Requirements
- Accounts payable and accounts payable audit background
- Practical SAP background
- Reconciliation and analytical capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
- Knowledge of procure-to-pay procedures including purchase orders, receiving, invoicing, and payment processing
- Background in finding root causes and fixing issues related to processes
