This full-time, on-site role in Bauchi, Nigeria, is with One Acre Fund's Nigeria program, which serves smallholder farmers with farm inputs, credit and tree seedlings. The specialist designs and leads operational trials on seedlings, planting and survival, oversees program rollout, and runs farmer-experience work and field training.
Responsibilities
- Lead trial design on seedling production, planting techniques and survival rates, and analyze the results.
- Own the Trees product portfolio strategy and validate new species before they are introduced.
- Oversee program rollout across regions and visit farmers and field teams regularly.
- Lead farmer behavior change work, field assessments and training for field teams.
Requirements
- 3+ years of relevant professional work experience, including leading teams.
- Proven experience designing and scaling forestry or agronomy trials, pilots and innovation programs.
- Deep knowledge of nursery management, climate-smart agroforestry and pest and disease control.
Qualifications
- A university degree in agriculture, forestry, development studies, environmental science or a related field.
