WorkMotion is hiring a full-time, remote AI Engineer specializing in agentic systems and large language model services. The company helps international businesses hire, onboard, and manage global talent through workforce solutions. This role suits an engineer who enjoys building production-ready AI services that transform complex real-world workflows into reliable tools.
The position involves taking charge of AI services from the initial prototype phase through to deployment. Responsibilities include designing FastAPI and async applications, developing multi-agent systems, building retrieval and ingestion pipelines with AWS storage, and implementing Model Context Protocol servers. The engineer will evaluate model performance, monitor deployments, and handle data privacy and governance tasks securely.
Candidates must be located within plus or minus two hours of Central European Time and possess professional software engineering experience alongside hands-on knowledge of LLM frameworks and Python. WorkMotion operates as a remote-first organization with a globally distributed workforce across multiple countries.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and release production AI services using Python and asynchronous FastAPI frameworks
- Develop multi-agent systems and LLM-powered pipelines for document processing, chatbots, and CRM automation
- Create and maintain Model Context Protocol servers and integrations for safe system access
- Build ingestion and retrieval pipelines incorporating parsing, chunking, embeddings, and vector search over AWS storage
- Evaluate and enhance system performance through benchmarks, regression testing, and prompt iterations
- Operate deployed applications including containerization, observability, authentication, and personal data handling
- Support AI governance standards by maintaining lifecycle records, recording risk assessments, and compiling ISO evidence
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience focusing on backend development and Python
- Minimum of 1 year building LLM-based applications in production environments
- Proficiency in Python including FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, async programming, and pytest
- Practical experience with LLM tooling such as agent frameworks, LiteLLM gateways, function calling, Model Context Protocol, and retrieval-augmented generation
- Familiarity with Docker, AWS storage solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools
- Strong competence in pragmatic problem-solving, data privacy, security, and written communication
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce or Atlassian APIs
- Background in human resources, payroll, or global employment domain data
- Experience working with closed-weight or open-weight models
- Familiarity with personal data anonymization and AI governance frameworks like GDPR, ISO 42001, and the EU AI Act
- Proficiency in Node.js or TypeScript for building integrations
- Track record of creating evaluation harnesses or benchmarks for LLM systems
