Accesa seeks an Android Technical Lead to join a technology company with two decades of experience helping major brands in retail, manufacturing, finance, and banking navigate digital transformation. In this position, the professional will guide the architecture for a retail client modernizing its platform away from legacy systems toward a modular, offline-first, multi-platform model supporting stationary POS terminals, self-checkout kiosks, and self-scanning devices. The selected candidate will shape shared business logic using Kotlin Multiplatform, targeting JVM/Desktop and Android clients while keeping core domain rules decoupled from platform UI concerns. This role suits an experienced engineer with deep system-level Android expertise and platform-scale architectural vision who excels in mentoring team members and communicating with senior stakeholders. Responsibilities
- Define clear contracts between Kotlin code, platform-specific modules, and the VueJS/TypeScript user interface layer.
- Design and maintain shared Kotlin Multiplatform modules for retail point-of-sale capabilities across desktop and Android targets.
- Implement platform-specific functionality using expect/actual patterns without leaking platform details into core business logic.
- Build offline-first workflows featuring local persistence, caching, synchronization readiness, and clear error handling.
- Write maintainable code, execute code reviews, and refactor existing modules as required.
- Create automated unit and integration tests covering domain rules, use cases, bridge contracts, and coroutine-based flows.
- Collaborate directly with frontend engineers, quality assurance, product owners, and architects to align on requirements.
- Support teammates through mentorship and knowledge sharing regarding modern Kotlin Multiplatform patterns.
Requirements
- Over eight years of working with Kotlin, including platform-scale architecture decision-making using Kotlin Multiplatform.
- Strong system-level Android experience beyond standard application-level development.
- Hands-on delivery experience with Kotlin Multiplatform targeting at least two environments, plus Kotlin Multiplatform to Swift/iOS interoperability knowledge.
- Background in executing Java to Kotlin or Kotlin Multiplatform migrations at scale.
- Expertise in Clean Architecture principles, dependency inversion, and repository abstractions.
- Practical proficiency with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for structured concurrency and reactive state handling.
- Familiarity with offline-first client architecture, local persistence, caching, and conflict management.
- Experience with dependency injection patterns and tools such as Koin.
Qualifications
- Compose Multiplatform experience.
- Background in point-of-sale or retail embedded systems.
- Desktop Java Virtual Machine client experience, including Electron sidecar or local service integration.
- Understanding of VueJS 3 and TypeScript.
