Originating from Y Combinator's W20 cohort, the organization has launched numerous analytics and observability solutions, built on a remote-first, product-led model with substantial financial backing.
The company seeks its first in-house Animator & Motion Graphics Designer to act as the primary creative engine for all moving visuals. This role suits a creative professional who is capable of both illustration and animation, rather than relying solely on pre-existing assets. The incoming team member will establish the brand's motion language across product launches, video shorts, documentaries, marketing campaigns, and website assets, ranging from clean motion graphics to character-led storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and establish the motion and animation identity for the brand from the ground up
- Illustrate and animate the company mascot, defining its movements and expressions
- Create animated elements for video content including product launches, changelogs, social shorts, and tutorials
- Design and animate 3D interface visuals and app icons
- Construct reusable toolkits consisting of animated logos, brand elements, transitions, and motion templates
- Produce motion graphics for advertisements, website GIFs, and collaborative illustration projects
Requirements
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Provide a portfolio showcasing technical excellence, creative viewpoint, and diverse animation styles
- Design, draw, and illustrate original assets independently before animating them
- Take independent animation projects from initial concept through to final delivery
Qualifications
- Experience using Adobe Fresco
- Background in producing content tailored for developer communities or technical audiences
- Familiarity with basic video editing to integrate animations into rough cuts
- Experience transforming product user interfaces and user experiences into animated assets
