In this position, interns specialize in the company models, codebase, products, or business operations. Responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, conducting offline analyses, and proposing solutions through self-directed investigation. Candidates will receive mentorship from seasoned machine learning practitioners while collaborating to enhance existing models and offerings.
This opportunity is well-suited for individuals currently pursuing higher education who possess strong foundations in probability, statistical theory, and machine learning. Interns will engage in rigorous experimentation, research machine learning approaches to boost predictive performance, and translate findings into production-ready solutions. The role requires occasional travel to meet in person for team collaboration one or two times during the internship period.
Responsibilities
- Research machine learning and statistical methods to discover model enhancements
- Design, implement, and evaluate product and technical upgrades using rigorous experimentation
- Translate research findings into documented methodologies and production-ready solutions

- Perform offline analyses through self-directed investigation and present findings to the machine learning team
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor, Masters, or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, or econometrics
- On track to graduate by 2028
- Strong fundamentals in machine learning, probability, and statistical theory
- Proficiency in performing data analysis and evaluating models using Python
- Basic SQL foundations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to use modern agentic tooling efficiently
Qualifications
- PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, physics, econometrics, or a related quantitative field
- On track to graduate by the summer of 2028
- Experience in feature engineering, model evaluation, and supervised learning
- Advanced knowledge of econometrics or frequentist, bayesian, and causal statistical theory
- Strong coding abilities in Python
