Job Description
The Audio Annotation Analyst is a remote, full-time role on the Research team at Pindrop, a company that runs ongoing identity checks for voice, video and digital channels. The position focuses on reviewing and labeling audio recordings, video content and related interaction data so that the company's fraud detection, authentication and deepfake detection technologies can be developed, tested and improved.
Work follows project-specific annotation guidelines and classification criteria. Assignments can move between audio and video projects as Research priorities change, and they may involve identifying fraud indicators, authentication outcomes, traits that separate human speech from synthetic speech, and intent when a project calls for it.
The role also supports targeted investigations. The analyst reviews interactions for problems such as background noise, degraded audio quality, IVR process gaps or unexpected model behavior, then documents observations so Research Scientists can better understand model performance and real customer interactions.
This position suits a detail-oriented person who listens closely, keeps results consistent across large volumes of data, and works independently on repetitive review tasks. Comfort with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets and clear written communication are core requirements. The posting gives a base pay range of $60,000 to $80,000 USD, with the final figure depending on factors such as experience, education and key skills.
Responsibilities
- Label audio recordings, video content and linked interaction data according to project guidelines
- Apply classification criteria to spot fraud signals, authentication results and human versus synthetic content
- Keep labels consistent across large datasets and review existing annotations for discrepancies
- Flag hard-to-classify cases and work with Research Scientists to settle edge cases
- Review interactions for noise, audio degradation, IVR gaps and unexpected model behavior
- Document findings and recurring patterns, and maintain accurate annotation records
Requirements
- Strong listening and observation skills with close attention to detail

- Familiarity with spreadsheets such as Excel or Google Sheets
- Clear written communication and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
Qualifications
- Experience with data annotation, audio or video labeling, transcription, quality assurance or qualitative review
- Knowledge of fraud detection, authentication, voice biometrics, trust and safety, or contact center and IVR workflows
- Understanding of synthetic speech, replay attacks, deepfakes, or labeling tasks such as intent recognition
- Experience with annotation platforms, structured review tools or basic SQL concepts
