Job Description
Minerva Foods seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join its Business Analytics team as part of a talent pool. Minerva Foods is a major exporter of beef in South America, operating 46 industrial units, 23 distribution centers, and 17 international offices while selling products to over 100 countries. The Business Analytics division tackles complex commercial challenges by applying algorithms, statistical techniques, stochastic methods, and optimization to internal and external data sources. This fully remote role suits a collaborative professional with a structured mindset and a hands-on approach who possesses strong communication skills and proven experience in data science initiatives such as price prediction, churn, collection, and behaviour score models.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy machine learning models covering regression, classification, and segmentation through various Python libraries
- Assess machine learning solutions using metrics and concepts including ROC-AUC, KS, training and testing, out of time, backtesting, confusion matrix, and cohorts
- Process information from multiple sources and merge them into usable structures for analysis
- Produce status updates and clear data workflow structures to present solutions at a strategic level
- Create storytelling presentations to share analysis outcomes and modeling results
- Drive operational shifts using data insights to deliver financial impact for the organization
- Partner with data infrastructure, data engineering, systems engineering, and process engineering teams to integrate analytical solutions into existing tools and workflows
- Monitor and suggest departmental modifications to incorporate industry best practices into activities, projects, and initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional background working on data science initiatives with verifiable business impact
- Mandatory technical proficiency in Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
- Advanced proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel to company operations and offices for process comprehension, opportunity mapping, client support, and validations
Qualifications
- Completed bachelor's degree in exact sciences fields including statistics, computing, mathematics, physics, engineering, or related areas
- Familiarity with Databricks and MLOps
- Post-graduate education in exact sciences
- Prior experience working on time series projects
