In this capacity, the individual will act as the primary billing authority, ensuring that automated revenue cycle features deliver precise and dependable results for medical practices.
This position functions as a bridge between the product division and everyday primary care billing operations, providing practical revenue cycle management insights to build trust in automated tools. Responsibilities include conducting initial testing on emerging billing features, establishing evaluation criteria for coding accuracy, and collaborating directly with product design teams. Furthermore, the professional will serve as a liaison for customer accounts participating in billing pilots and assist internal teams by addressing escalated billing inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Test new artificial intelligence billing capabilities including coding suggestions, automated queues, worklists, and payment posting prior to general release
- Establish success criteria and define correct outputs for coding and billing features
- Collaborate with product design as a co-designer to build workflows and integrate industry standards
- Partner with pilot practices to translate operational pain points into actionable product input
- Support internal teams such as customer success, marketing, sales, and support by handling escalated billing questions
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of practical primary care billing and coding experience within a physician practice setting
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and modifier rules specific to primary care
- Working knowledge of practice management and billing systems such as Athena, AdvancedMD, or Kareo
- Comprehension of commercial and government payer guidelines, denial management processes, and claims workflows
- Capacity to convert domain knowledge into product feedback and communicate effectively across engineering, product, and design teams
Qualifications
- Prior exposure to electronic health record workflows and their intersection with clinical documentation
- Familiarity with value-based care billing frameworks including CPC+, MSSP, and direct contracting
- Possession of a Certified Professional Coder or comparable certification
- Background working in a technology-forward healthcare or SaaS company
- Previous involvement in user testing, design partnerships, or product feedback initiatives
