Job Description
Movement Strategy is seeking a Business Affairs Lead to take charge of its contracts and business affairs operations. The organization operates on a remote model with hubs in California, Colorado, and New York.
This role is well-suited for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment and views business affairs as an enabler of creative work rather than a barrier. You will handle complex client master services agreements, statements of work, vendor contracts, influencer partnerships, and intellectual property matters. - Partner with client teams to run compliance checks on content production before release.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Technology on AI tools, data privacy, and technology stack terms.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a direct report through regular meetings and structured growth planning.
Requirements
- At least seven years of experience in contracts management, legal operations, or business affairs.
- Substantial background in negotiating media, entertainment, or agency agreements.
- Demonstrated history of leading master services agreement and statement of work negotiations with sophisticated corporate counterparties.
- Working familiarity with platform requirements, influencer contracting, Federal Trade Commission guidelines, and usage rights.
- Experience in overseeing external legal counsel and managing legal budgets.
- Prior experience in formally mentoring or managing at least one direct report.
- A history of creating durable assets like templates, playbooks, or repeatable compliance workflows.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree or paralegal background.
- Active bar admission.
- Experience standing up or maturing a legal or business affairs division at an expanding company.
- Familiarity with data privacy and artificial intelligence tooling considerations in creative production.
- Exposure to vendor and technology contracting.
