Job Description
Planet Technologies, a Microsoft services firm serving the public sector, is recruiting a Business Analyst for a remote, full-time position supporting federal government programs. The analyst bridges client needs and development teams, converting requests into well-defined requirements and keeping work moving.
Day to day, the analyst learns what customers need and writes it up as user stories, while helping Product Owners build and steward the product backlog. The analyst works as a core member of the development team, arranging the sprint backlog, getting stories ready for planning, and reviewing them mid-sprint to confirm they meet Product Owner expectations. Business processes are mapped so stakeholders and engineers share a common picture.
The analyst also helps prepare lifecycle documentation such as specifications, operating guides, scope statements and software design papers. Customer relationships need steady communication: setting expectations, raising issues early and producing weekly or monthly progress updates for customers and the Program Manager. Familiarity with Power Platform helps in managing backlog items and acceptance criteria in Agile teams.
The listing seeks three to five years of Business Analyst experience, preferably in federal settings, with hands-on familiarity with Agile principles, Scrum or Kanban. Power Platform, Visio and Project skills are noted, and a BA certification or PMP is mentioned. The company cites a Business Analyst pay band of $90,000 to $130,000, with the final offer depending on experience, clearance and similar factors.
