If this capability is established internally, the individual would take functional ownership of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This involves assisting with daily financial tasks, streamlining procedures, managing master data, preparing system documentation, and guiding end users. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, analytical, and ready to take ownership of system evolution while translating operational needs into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily finance operations covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, banking, fixed assets, purchase orders, and month-end tasks
- Resolve system problems and maintain high data quality
- Advise operations and finance departments on best practices within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Map and document workflows while identifying methods to simplify, standardize, and automate processes
- Handle acquisition-related workstreams such as chart of accounts alignment, entity setup, dimension mapping, and data migration
- Coordinate functional requirements for third-party integrations
- Oversee master data, financial structures, purchasing approval workflows, and posting setups
- Gather reporting requirements, generate functional specifications, and assist with Business Central and Power BI reporting
- Coordinate user acceptance testing and support stable system releases
- Provide system training, documentation, and user guidance across the organization
Requirements
- Strong configuration and functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Solid grounding in accounting principles and finance processes including AP, AR, GL, purchasing, banking, fixed assets, and month-end routines
- Background in supporting multi-entity or acquisition-heavy environments
- Hands-on practice with master data governance, dimensions, permissions, posting setups, financial structures, and approval workflows
- Demonstrated ability to turn business rules into workable system solutions and improve workflows
- Familiarity with coordinating API or middleware alterations for integrations with payroll, CRM, and banking systems
- Capacity to write clear functional specifications, test scripts, and process documentation
- Experience managing user acceptance testing and release sign-offs
Qualifications
- Exposure to multi-tenant operating environments
- Knowledge of Power BI and reporting development
- Familiarity with AI capabilities within Business Central
