Job Description

This position is the single owner of apparel growth inside a fresh, high-priority commerce push at StockX, a Detroit-based online marketplace for sneakers, apparel, collectibles, electronics and more. The role is remote in the United States. The person in this position acts as the company's internal authority on apparel culture and the resale economics that come with it.

Responsibilities include setting the growth strategy for apparel on the platform and being accountable for supply, engagement and sales results. The manager sets quarterly targets, tracks leading indicators and establishes regular review routines. Recruiting is a major part of the work, including locating and signing up key merchants, boutiques, makers, influencers and content creators who help set the platform's tone.

Beyond acquisition, the manager designs apparel-focused events and content formats that lift engagement and sales, working with category marketing. The job also involves partnering with account, partnerships, product and engineering colleagues, sharing market insight to inform the roadmap, and recording what works in playbooks that future categories can reuse. As the team grows, the manager helps with hiring and onboarding.

Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in apparel, streetwear or fashion roles covering category work, partnerships, marketplace growth, brand or operations. The posting emphasizes deep knowledge of second-hand fashion culture, strong commercial judgment with pricing and margin awareness, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Helpful extras include an existing network of resellers or designers and experience running a business.

The Colorado listing gives a base salary range of USD 120,000 to 130,000, with opportunities for medical and dental benefits, equity and discretionary bonuses. The posting notes that pay in other geographies may vary. The company began operating in 2016 and has about 1,000 staff across offices and verification sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Set the growth strategy for apparel on the platform and own the results
  • Be accountable for apparel's supply, engagement and sales results
  • Set quarterly targets, lead indicators and regular operating routines
  • Serve as the internal expert on apparel culture, from sub-segments and seasonal drops to brand dynamics and resale economics
  • Locate and sign up key merchants, boutiques, makers, social personalities and content producers
  • Design apparel-centred events and content formats that raise engagement and conversion, working alongside category marketing
  • Work with account, partnership, product and engineering colleagues to expand seller onboarding and shape useful tools
  • Turn market insight into clear input for product and roadmap decisions
  • Record what works in frameworks and playbooks so future categories can reuse them
  • Help define the standard for strong category ownership and assist with hiring and onboarding

Requirements

  • Five or more years in apparel, streetwear or fashion roles spanning category work, partnerships, marketplace growth, brand or operations
  • Deep, up-to-date knowledge of second-hand fashion culture, including its people, platforms and trends
  • Comfortable taking ownership of results, not only strategy, and adapting quickly
  • Good at building trust with merchants, designers, creators and community figures
  • Data-literate and commercially minded, comfortable with pricing, margins, liquidity and incentives
  • Entrepreneurial and energized by building something new

Qualifications

  • Established ties with resale sellers, label operators, makers, shop owners or content creators
  • Hands-on time trading apparel or working for a resale or fashion marketplace
