How To MANAGE a Small Law Firm seeks a full-time CFO - Lite to assist solo law firm owners with understanding financial metrics, enhancing profitability, and guiding business decisions. The professional chosen will join a fractional executive team composed of CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Controllers, managing a client roster of forty individuals. Candidates must live in one of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, or West Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly individual financial strategy meetings with clients
- Review financial records, key performance indicators, cash flow, and profit margins
- Develop and explain financial tracking dashboards
- Create short-term cash flow projections and spot potential risks
- Translate complex financial figures into straightforward and practical guidance
- Guide clients in building better financial habits and maintaining accountability
Requirements
- Possess controller or senior finance and accounting background
- Demonstrate expertise in financial forecasting, KPI tracking, dashboard creation, and data analysis
- Show a history of enhancing cash flow, increasing profitability, or reducing costs
- Bring background in client relationship management or team leadership
- Communicate effectively with the ability to simplify financial concepts
- Be available to work some evenings and undertake travel
Qualifications
- Prior small business or entrepreneurial background
- Previous experience working within professional services or law firms
