The Public Service Commission Zimbabwe is seeking a Chief Director, Traditional Leadership And Support Services for a full-time position based in Harare within the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works.
This role suits an experienced public sector professional ready to lead policy formulation, resource management, and stakeholder engagement related to traditional leaders.
The incumbent will direct the creation, implementation, and evaluation of strategic programs, oversee budgetary processes, manage department staff performance, and supervise the administration of benefits and dispute resolution mechanisms for traditional leaders.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the development and review of policies, strategic plans, and budget estimates regarding traditional leadership
- Coordinate the execution of government policies, monitor financial performance, and advise on budget allocations
- Oversee human, physical, and financial resource allocation, performance evaluations, and program budgets
- Manage the welfare, remuneration, benefits, and boundary gazetting for traditional leaders
- Direct selection processes, recommend appointments, and oversee vacancy inventories
- Consolidate departmental reports and present them to relevant committees
Requirements
- Hold a degree in social science or an equivalent qualification
- Possess a Master's degree in Public Administration, public policy, Development Studies, or Law
- Bring at least 10 years of total professional experience
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of experience at the Director level in a relevant sector
