IQ-EQ is seeking a Client Accountant to join their team on a fully remote basis within the UK. In this permanent, full-time position, you will serve as the primary daily contact for designated investment fund clients, including those in private equity, real estate, credit, and debt sectors. The organization operates globally across 25 jurisdictions, offering administrative, compliance, governance, data, and reporting solutions to asset managers and global businesses.
This role suits an organized professional who enjoys managing client relationships and tackling daily operational challenges. Your core duties will involve overseeing fund deliverables, coordinating schedules, and communicating directly with financial controllers and CFOs. You will collaborate closely with internal management and technical departments to examine quarterly and annual financial statements, verify investor distributions and drawdowns, and mentor junior colleagues.
Ideal candidates bring background experience from a professional office environment, such as financial services or an accounting practice, and possess strong accounting knowledge along with intermediate Excel proficiency. Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day front office contact for designated private equity, real estate, credit, or debt fund clients
- Manage ongoing client relationships by overseeing deliverables, agreeing on timelines, and communicating with CFOs and financial controllers
- Review quarterly and annual financial statements to ensure alignment with reporting standards like UK GAAP or IFRS
- Verify investor distribution and drawdown calculations to guarantee correct fund movements and proper allocation of proceeds
- Mentor and assist team members while developing expertise in client-specific accounting frameworks per LPA
- Enhance processes, balance stakeholder needs, and optimize workflows to improve efficiency and mitigate risk
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably in financial services or an accounting practice managing multiple client accounts
- Demonstrated accounting expertise involving the review of working papers and financial statements with disclosures, or equivalent experience backed by CPD
- Proven ability to handle client relationships and resolve issues professionally
- Intermediate Excel skills
Qualifications
- Hold a higher education credential such as IATI
- Qualified as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, qualified by experience, or an equivalent designation
