ExtraHop is seeking a Compliance & Regulatory Counsel to join its legal team on a remote basis. ExtraHop builds Network Detection and Response platforms designed to give enterprises network visibility and protection against cyber threats. In this position, the attorney will act as a legal partner for a growing global tech SaaS organization, advising on laws and regulations impacting SaaS providers and enterprise clients.
This role is ideal for a junior- to mid-level attorney who wants cross-functional exposure to international technology regulations, product and hardware compliance, and AI and privacy governance. Working under the supervision of senior legal leadership, the counsel will collaborate extensively with departments such as Information Security, Privacy, IT, HR, Finance, and Product to manage risk and build scalable processes.
The position requires balancing competing priorities, exercising sound judgment on intricate requests, and supporting corporate governance, independent audits, commercial litigation needs, and sales compliance functions.
Responsibilities
- Research and provide guidance on global regulatory and compliance frameworks affecting a B2B SaaS provider
- Handle customer due diligence requests, security questionnaires, RFIs, RFPs, and TPRM assessments
- Partner with internal teams to manage risks related to data privacy, GDPR, CCPA, and artificial intelligence data protection
- Draft and revise critical data protection documentation including Data Privacy Agreements and standard contractual clauses
- Serve as the primary legal contact for independent audits such as SOC 2 readiness, policy drafting, and evidence collection
- Manage corporate governance tasks such as annual compliance training and global ESG data collection
- Support the annual corporate insurance review and renewal process by gathering underwriting data
- Assist with commercial litigation matters, discovery requests, and legal holds
Requirements
- J.D. or LL.M. degree with an active US state bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience
- Expertise in regulatory compliance, data privacy, cloud and SaaS transactions, and third-party risk management
- Working knowledge of foundational technology and privacy regulations such as GLBA, FERPA, and GDPR
- Ability to manage multi-stakeholder workflows and meet tight deadlines
Qualifications
- Prior legal experience supporting B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or technology companies
- Professional privacy certification such as CIPP/US or CIPP/E
- Familiarity with third-party risk management platforms and regulatory filing platforms like SAM.gov
- Interest in emerging frameworks including the EU AI Act and DORA
