KnowBe4 is hiring a Compliance Summer Intern for a remote, paid internship running from May 24th, 2027 through August 13th, 2027. The organization provides a workforce security platform focused on attack simulation, training, collaboration security, and agent security. The chosen intern will work directly alongside the Compliance department to handle various cybersecurity industry legal and regulatory matters, including sanctions, export controls, anti-bribery, antitrust, whistleblower legislation, and third-party due diligence.
Daily duties involve supporting research projects, assisting with compliance audits and risk assessments, observing attorney counseling sessions, and contributing to M&A due diligence efforts. Participants in the program will also engage in professional development workshops, onboarding, team-building socials, and Ask Me Anything sessions with senior executives and the CEO.
This position requires current enrollment as a 2L student in an ABA law school. The pay rate spans from $17 to $25 per hour, determined by how closely qualifications match the role. Please note that interns are responsible for their own lodging and relocation expenses if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Shadow attorneys across diverse business and legal matters involving client counseling
- Support compliance matters relating to anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, sanctions, export controls, and antitrust
- Conduct research regarding developing case law and regulations affecting the enterprise
- Assist with compliance investigations, audits, and risk assessments
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, internal legal processes, playbooks, and policies
- Support due diligence procedures for strategic transactions and M&A efforts
- Research legal industry techniques and technology to increase Legal department efficiency
- Observe collaborative inter-departmental meetings connecting Compliance with teams like Sales and Marketing
- Investigate varying subject matters impacting the enterprise and its global affiliates
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a 2L student at an ABA law school at the time of application
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides
- Familiarity with legal research software platforms such as Westlaw or PLI
- Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize multiple competing tasks, and maintain strong organization
Qualifications
- Ranking in the top 25 percent of the law school class
- Prior in-house or compliance experience
- Demonstrated self-reliance, innovative mindset, and strong communication skills
