Deloitte in Accra is hiring a Credit Risk Consultant to support its risk team on client engagements and projects. The role develops and calibrates credit risk models, validates and monitors them, benchmarks credit metrics and produces portfolio analytics, while reviewing deliverables and drafting reports. It is a full-time position for a quantitative graduate with three to five years of banking, consulting or similar experience and working knowledge of IFRS 9.
Responsibilities
- Develop and calibrate credit risk models, and carry out model validation, monitoring and testing
- Benchmark credit metrics against peers and derive portfolio credit analytics
- Review client deliverables for quality, accuracy and completeness
- Communicate project challenges and outcomes to clients and team members, and draft project reports
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, financial engineering, actuarial science, engineering, economics or econometrics
- At least three to five years of relevant experience in banking, financial services consulting or a similar environment
- Fundamental credit risk modelling skills, including predictive modelling techniques
- Basic understanding of the credit lifecycle, model risk management, Basel regulations and IFRS 9
Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of PD, EAD, LGD, Basel II and IAS 39
- Coding skills in SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, R or Python
