Job Description

Ebury's Santiago office is seeking a senior credit risk manager for a brand-new, pivotal position in the Credit Risk function. The post sits on the local leadership team. The holder manages and improves the current Chilean portfolio and sharpens underwriting and credit risk processes. The job is full time and hybrid, with four days in the office and one at home.

The manager oversees every stage of the credit cycle, from initial approval to collection and recovery, including coordinating with lawyers if a case goes to litigation. Assessment of prospects and existing clients centres on company financials, trading patterns and operations, and the manager approves currency exposure limits within a delegated authority framework. Credit Committee presentations, delivered in person, go to senior executives including C-suite members. Portfolio reporting covers credit lines, exposure, overdue accounts and pipeline for the Board and the Risk Management Office. The role also supports collections, works with Front Office and Onboarding/Compliance, shares practice with managers abroad, and reports into the senior global credit risk team.

Applicants need at least five years of credit underwriting experience, preferably in Chile's SME sector, and a firm grasp of local accounting rules. Experience with collections and litigation is desired, as are clear communication, one-to-one client problem solving and familiarity with the basic FX products used locally. Pay includes a starting salary and a yearly discretionary bonus, and Ebury offers mentoring, modern technology and routes to leadership.
