Job Description

Hone Health runs an online medical practice focused on healthcare and longevity. It has operated entirely virtually since it started and plans to remain a remote-first company. It is now seeking a full-time Data Architect to lead the data platform behind marketing, product and finance reporting for its subscription, direct-to-consumer model.

The architect would design and build a layered data lakehouse on Microsoft Fabric, organized into bronze, silver and gold tiers that enable self-service reporting across the business. Other duties include engineering dependable pipelines that move information out of source applications, producing data models and dashboards, and establishing oversight of lineage, documentation, quality checks and permissions.

A central goal is making data approachable for people outside analytics. The architect would create AI-assisted tools that let marketing, product and finance staff explore and make sense of information on their own, and would partner with leaders to agree on and maintain a common vocabulary for business terms. Collaboration with the growth, product, finance and clinical groups is expected, so that business questions become solid, scalable data work.

The architect also mentors and grows a cross-functional group that includes pipeline builders, analytics engineers and BI analysts, and sets engineering standards. The company describes its ideal hire as mission-minded and flexible, comfortable working alone or in a team, candid in communication, and eager to keep learning. Its stated values include putting customers first, communicating frankly and taking measured risks.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement a tiered lakehouse in Microsoft Fabric
  • Create AI-assisted tools that let non-technical teams query data themselves
  • Maintain a shared business glossary with organizational leaders
  • Build and monitor dependable ingestion pipelines
  • Develop data models and BI dashboards for marketing, product and finance
  • Establish governance covering lineage, docs, quality checks and permissions
  • Mentor and coach pipeline builders, analytics engineers and BI analysts

Requirements

  • Ten or more years in a technical data discipline such as data engineering or architecture
  • Practical command of PySpark, Python, SQL and dbt, plus Microsoft Fabric or a comparable lakehouse product
  • Track record of building layered architectures and production pipelines
  • Experience building or deploying AI-enabled tools for business users
  • Ability to agree shared data definitions with non-technical executives
  • Experience leading data teams across several disciplines
  • Background in a growth-stage startup, comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship offered

Qualifications

  • Experience with Claude or comparable LLM tools (a strong plus)
  • Health or health-tech background (a plus)
  • Machine learning or predictive modeling experience (a plus)
