Trainees work beside senior DBAs, data engineers and platform engineers. Work includes writing and reviewing SQL, analyzing slow queries, supporting monitoring and capacity reviews, helping with backup, restore, replication and high-availability tasks, and assisting with incident investigations. Trainees also run benchmarks comparing configurations and technologies, write Python to automate routine chores, verify data integrity and document standards and procedures.
