Databricks, known as the Data and AI company, seeks a Delivery Solutions Architect to join its field engineering organization and report to a DSA Manager. In this remote position, the individual will serve as a hybrid technical and commercial leader, driving platform adoption and maximizing return on investment for complex customers using the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. The role suits professionals with extensive background in technical project delivery, program management, and client-facing architecture who can act as the post-sale technical lead across all company products.
Key duties involve partnering with sales and field engineering teams, guiding key use cases from the initial win to production, ensuring healthy workload consumption, and managing operational governance. The architect will lead account strategies, coordinate internal specialized teams including Professional Services and support, and report key performance indicators to the Technical GM. Candidates must be prepared to travel up to 30% of the time as needed.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Solutions Architects to comprehend full use case demand plans for prioritized accounts
- Lead post-technical win strategy and execution for strategic customer use cases
- Act as the accountable technical leader to drive onboarding, success, go-live, and workload consumption
- Serve as the primary point of contact for production and go-live technical issues
- Collaborate with shared services, user education, onboarding, and support teams to resolve issues
- Develop execution plans covering use case deployment, user growth, product adoption, and cloud cost control
- Report KPI metrics on usage, customer health, investment status, and risks to the Technical GM
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience managing technical project or program delivery in data and artificial intelligence
- Programming background utilizing Python, SQL, or Scala
- Previous experience in client-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, customer success, or consulting roles
- Knowledge of solution architecture principles for distributed data systems
- Ability to connect business value and outcomes to specific project deliverables
- Experience handling technical program or project management with account, stakeholder, and resource responsibilities
- Demonstrated skill in resolving complex escalations with senior client executives
- History of leading open-ended discovery workshops, strategic roadmaps, business analysis, and complex delivery
- Proven record of exceeding quota, goals, or similar objective targets
- Availability to travel up to 30% when required
