Operating fully remotely, the engineering team ships updates daily and utilizes modern AI tools throughout the development lifecycle. This is the organization's initial Deployment Strategist role, designed for someone who can translate client challenges into daily operator workflows and demonstrate quantitative results. The position involves close collaboration with the Product and Forward Deployed Engineering teams from the initial discovery phase through deployment planning, user adoption, and value tracking. Ideal candidates are comfortable interacting with executive leadership and spending time in the field, taking whatever steps are necessary to deliver solutions and directly influence product development.
The role requires spending roughly a quarter of your time visiting customer sites across North America. Responsibilities include observing mine operations firsthand, managing end-to-end deployment plans, leading weekly stakeholder meetings, building temporary custom reports or tools using Python and SQL to resolve immediate gaps, and feeding field insights back into product requirements. The position also supports business growth by participating in sales demonstrations and identifying account expansion opportunities while helping establish foundational playbooks for the department.

- Develop rapid reports, dashboards, and lightweight tools using SQL, Python, or AI coding tools to address immediate customer issues
- Translate field observations and data into clear product requirements for engineering and product teams
- Participate in sales visits to demonstrate platform capabilities and uncover expansion opportunities within existing accounts
- Contribute to building internal processes, playbooks, and culture for the deployment function
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, forward deployed engineering, deployment, technical product management, or product management with ownership of outcomes

- Experience creating a team practice, process, or playbook from scratch that was adopted by others
- Ability to run meetings with senior stakeholders and communicate difficult updates
- Strong product judgment enabling the translation of customer requests into actual needs
- Hands-on building skills to swiftly produce functional tools, dashboards, or reports
- Clear communication abilities spanning frontline operators to corporate executives
- United States citizenship or permanent residency
Qualifications
- Experience deploying technology within industrial, energy, mining, or government environments with an understanding of constraints like shift schedules, uptime, safety, compliance, and connectivity
- Familiarity with real-time data products, IoT, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or computer vision
- Prior background in hiring, managing, or mentoring team members
- Exposure to mission-critical or sensitive customer settings
