Galaxy is seeking a Director, Head of Execution to lead the creation of greenfield algorithmic trading systems and shape next-generation infrastructure. Galaxy Digital Inc. operates as a global leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure, connecting institutions to digital assets through trading, advisory, asset management, staking, self-custody, and tokenization, while also powering AI and high-performance computing workloads. This remote role is suited for a technical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a passion for hands-on technical development. The incoming director will design low-latency routing systems, collaborate with trading teams and stakeholders, and guide junior developers.
Responsibilities
- Design and direct the creation of a high-throughput, low-latency Smart Order Router and algorithmic trading platform
- Develop intelligent routing algorithms utilizing liquidity, latency, execution quality, and cost metrics
- Work alongside traders and product managers to improve routing logic and introduce new algorithmic features
- Connect the Smart Order Router with reporting, booking, and trading components
- Evaluate and enhance system performance under live trading scenarios
- Guide junior staff members, maintain coding benchmarks, and participate in architectural choices
- Troubleshoot live production trading concerns and boost failover capabilities
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of background creating routing strategies for specific markets like crypto exchanges, European markets, or U.S. equities
- Familiarity with real-time market data processing and tick data analytics
- Background working in algorithmic or high-frequency trading settings
- Experience constructing low-latency technology and utilizing unicast or multicast market data streams
- Understanding of electronic and algorithmic trading application stacks and infrastructure
- Technical competence in system architecture, technical workflows, FIX protocol, OMS/EMS, and market gateways
- Knowledge of memory management, networking, and concurrency
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems and performance profiling instruments
Qualifications
- Deep comprehension of market microstructure, order types, and electronic trading across asset classes such as FX, options, equities, and crypto
- Background in the crypto or decentralized finance sector
- Exposure to compliance-driven or regulatory environments
- Familiarity with DevOps workflows or cloud infrastructure including AWS and GCP
