Clarenza is hiring a Director of Engineering to join their team in a remote capacity. Clarenza develops a capital markets layer designed to assist private market investors by connecting counterparties, surfacing deal intelligence, and transforming market insights into clarity for investment committees. This is a high-velocity, hands-on position that reports directly to the CEO.
The person in this role will work closely with the founders to design and execute delivery on a scalable, reliable, and resilient platform. Responsibilities include building and maintaining platform code in Python, enforcing strict git flow operations, conducting code reviews, and architecting the Hybrid Agent Framework alongside the CEO to ensure Supervisor Agents and LLMs function smoothly within the infrastructure.
This position is ideal for an experienced backend engineering professional with a strong background in agentic compute, containerization, and data security standards such as GDPR, ISO, and SOC 2. Candidates must be able to operate with minimal technical supervision while mentoring team members, managing day-to-day engineering activities, and collaborating directly with company leadership.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain platform code using Python
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback while enforcing strict git flow and operational standards
- Design reliable, resilient, and scalable agent topologies
- Collaborate with the CEO to architect the Hybrid Agent Framework and coordinate Supervisor Agents and LLMs
- Produce clear designs and documentation for the modular AI architecture
- Manage daily engineering operations, drive team upskilling, identify improvements, and handle planning
- Ensure code and containers function seamlessly across agnostic infrastructure deployment environments
- Partner with the founders on architectural and design decisions
- Maintain a focus on data privacy, security, data masking, anonymization, and encryption for GDPR, ISO, and SOC 2 compliance
Requirements
- Possess 7 to 10 years of professional experience with a strong focus on backend systems
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in Python
- Have a deep understanding of application containerization, microservices, agentic compute, and deploying LLMs in production
- Bring experience building stateful applications utilizing agent frameworks
- Show the ability to design solutions independently with strong communication skills and minimal technical supervision
- Demonstrate fluency in English at a business negotiation level for both written and spoken communication
