Appen seeks a Director of IT & Automation to direct its technology department and guide how an artificial intelligence-oriented enterprise functions. Responsibilities
- Design and execute the technology strategy covering enterprise systems, support services, security, and automation.
- Supervise help desk operations, endpoint device management, and critical incident responses.
- Manage the health, setup, and integration of core corporate systems including Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Workday, Atlassian, Amazon Web Services, Databricks, and Anthropic.
- Direct corporate security and compliance efforts related to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certifications.
- Implement practical artificial intelligence and automation solutions to eliminate manual tasks across help desk routing, employee onboarding, provisioning, and administration.
- Negotiate and manage technology vendor portfolios, software licenses, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing technology team focused on enterprise platforms and automation.
Requirements
- Possess eight or more years of experience within information technology, featuring substantial leadership tenure.
- Demonstrate hands-on familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and enterprise infrastructure.
- Show technical credibility across cloud computing platforms, endpoint devices, identity management, and software integrations.
- Bring practical background with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and security compliance governance.
- Display commercial competence in vendor negotiations and technology expense management.
