Job Description

SureCost seeks a Director of Product to oversee a designated portfolio of pharmacy solutions, managing the entire lifecycle from initial conception through market adoption. In this hands-on capacity, the professional will directly engage with clients weekly, develop early prototypes, and collaborate with commercial teams to drive execution. The organization is currently restructuring its product development methodology around artificial intelligence tools, requiring this leadership figure to guide teams in leveraging AI-assisted discovery, specifications, and evaluations.

This position requires an individual capable of managing business reviews, tracking performance metrics, moving toward product-level P&L visibility, and maintaining output quality. Responsibilities include setting quarterly priorities within pod capacity, establishing AI agents for specific tasks, and partnering with marketing and sales divisions on positioning, messaging, and pricing strategies. The person in this role will coordinate across multiple product areas with design and product operations to ensure cohesive inventory, purchasing, and shortage workflows.

The employer operates in a remote-first setting where communication happens digitally via video, chat, and email, requiring high self-motivation from staff. Candidates must be prepared to master intricate domain areas including group purchasing organization contracts, wholesaler operations, drug supply chain security legislation, 340B programs, and pharmaceutical shortages. This opportunity suits experienced product leaders with a strong background in business software who want to shape AI-integrated product creation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the roadmap, outcomes, and quarterly priorities for designated product segments
  • Conduct monthly business reviews addressing adoption rates, customer issues, revenue signals, and plan delivery
  • Develop product-level P&L visibility alongside the chief product officer
  • Oversee the quality and engineering resource allocation for shipped features
  • Guide team members in utilizing artificial intelligence tooling and structures
  • Engage in multiple customer conversations weekly, including enterprise accounts
  • Collaborate with commercial divisions regarding launch planning, sales enablement, demo readiness, and messaging
  • Partner with marketing on competitive intelligence, positioning, and product messaging
  • Supply input on pricing and packaging for new releases and enhancements
  • Integrate feedback from sales, customer success, and market observations into future planning
  • Track post-launch adoption alongside customer success teams
  • Build and ship prototypes, skills, and agents independently to set team standards for AI-assisted workflows
  • Manage AI agents end-to-end, defining problems, precision thresholds, evaluation methods, and human approval points
  • Provide evidence-based recommendations to halt or reshape initiatives
  • Coordinate with other directors, product operations, and design to ensure a unified product lifecycle

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of product management experience within business-to-business or enterprise software companies
  • At least two years of experience leading other product managers or product owners
  • Demonstrated history of owning and improving product outcomes such as adoption, retention, or revenue
  • Proven hands-on artificial intelligence fluency through building prototypes, workflows, or agents using tools such as Claude or Cursor
  • Experience writing or managing evaluation criteria for AI or machine learning features
  • Strong written communication skills, with a writing sample required
  • Proficiency in pulling, reading, and reporting usage and support metrics independently
  • Experience managing contracted enterprise customers through difficult scope and timeline discussions
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence across engineering, sales, customer success, and finance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, pharmacology, or a related field
  • Background in pharmacy, healthcare supply chain, distribution, or procurement
  • Pragmatic Institute or Pragmatic Marketing certification
  • Fluency in statistical analysis and methods
  • Familiarity with drug supply chain security legislation, 340B, group purchasing organization contracts, or wholesaler operations
  • Experience with regulated software, including compliance and audit mandates
  • Background in transitioning a product from a service-heavy model to a platform or application programming interface-first model
