Job Description

GitLab is an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps that assists organizations in boosting developer productivity, enhancing operational efficiency, minimizing security and compliance risks, and speeding up digital transformation. The company operates as an all-remote organization where teams collaborate asynchronously.

The employer is seeking a Director of Product Management for Agentic Software Delivery to oversee a strategic product section that covers Continuous Integration, Artifact Management, Continuous Deployment, and Observability. This position is suited for a product leader who has experience managing senior and principal product managers and who wants to shape how artificial intelligence transforms software delivery systems.

In this role, the incumbent will own the three-year vision, business outcomes, adoption funnels, and monetization strategy across build, package, deploy, and monitor functions. Responsibilities include unifying disparate roadmaps into a single strategy, making build-buy-partner decisions, driving pricing and packaging across commercial tiers, and partnering closely with engineering and go-to-market teams. The ideal candidate brings a background in developer tools or DevOps, technical fluency in pipeline and observability workflows, executive communication skills, and a practical approach to incorporating AI tools into everyday product management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the strategy, three-year vision, and business results for the Agentic Software Delivery section
  • Lead, mentor, and hire senior and principal product managers across continuous integration, artifact management, continuous deployment, and observability
  • Set operating standards and frameworks to guide high-quality product decisions
  • Monitor key performance indicators and adoption metrics to allocate investments or halt underperforming projects
  • Evaluate strategic bets and make build, buy, or partner decisions accompanied by business cases
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership on platform architecture, platform investments, and unified customer experiences
  • Coordinate with product marketing, sales, pricing, customer success, and solutions engineering on pricing, packaging, and go-to-market execution
  • Represent the section to senior leaders, enterprise customers, and industry groups while modeling AI-native product practices

Requirements

  • Experience leading product managers, including hiring, developing senior and principal talent, and managing performance
  • Demonstrated accountability for product portfolio adoption, retention, and revenue outcomes
  • Product management background in continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, artifact management, release management, or observability
  • Technical fluency to collaborate with engineers on pipeline design, artifact workflows, deployment strategies, and observability signals
  • Experience shaping pricing and packaging for technical products across free, commercial, and enterprise offerings
  • Background working with technical users in developer tools, DevOps, or software delivery environments
  • Executive-level communication and influence skills
  • Practical utilization of AI tools in product workflows and a perspective on agentic software delivery
