The organization is seeking a Director for OT Operations, Cybersecurity, and Governance to oversee the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of operational technology services that monitor and control generation facilities.
This leader will direct reliable operational technology delivery, manage technical teams alongside service providers, handle technology roadmaps and budgets, and ensure adherence to a risk-based cybersecurity program across SCADA infrastructure. The position involves coordinating across engineering, operations, IT, cybersecurity, and compliance departments to safeguard personnel, uphold availability, and support fleet expansion safely.
The role suits an experienced technology leader with a background in critical infrastructure or industrial control systems who can balance reliability, security, regulatory obligations, and costs. Responsibilities encompass multiyear strategy planning, operational technology cybersecurity ownership, NERC regulatory compliance, vendor governance, cross-functional collaboration, and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement a multiyear operational technology strategy and roadmap that aligns with business objectives and fleet growth.
- Manage multidisciplinary personnel in operational technology operations, engineering, governance, and cybersecurity.
- Formulate annual operational and capital budgets, staffing plans, and investment priorities.
- Own the operational technology cybersecurity program, control framework, and risk-based priorities across generation assets.
- Direct asset inventory, patching, network segmentation, vulnerability management, secure configurations, and security monitoring.
- Manage regulatory obligations, including NERC CIP and O&P requirements, while maintaining audit-ready evidence.
- Establish an operational technology risk-management framework, risk register, and exception procedures.
- Direct day-to-day delivery of SCADA, control networks, servers, historians, and supporting services.
- Govern third-party vendors and service providers, defining access, security, documentation, and support requirements.
- Collaborate across departments to align enterprise technology services with operational technology availability and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Hold an advanced technical degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Accumulate at least 10 years of relevant experience, including 5 or more years in a leadership capacity within operational technology operations, industrial cybersecurity, ICS/SCADA, or critical infrastructure technology.
- Demonstrate experience leading technical teams, managing budgets, and directing programs across distributed facilities.
- Show proven success in establishing and maintaining regulatory compliance programs alongside NERC process knowledge.
- Bring experience in building governance, risk management, change control, compliance evidence, and disaster recovery processes.
Qualifications
- Possess leadership experience supporting operational technology or ICS/SCADA environments within wind, solar, storage, utilities, or distributed energy infrastructure.
- Have familiarity with NIST CSF and NIST 800-82 frameworks.
- Hold relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GICSP, or CEH.
