Job Description
OLIPOP seeks a Director, Social to guide the company's social media footprint and manage how the brand appears in modern culture. Operating at the junction of communications, strategy, and creativity, this leadership role focuses on establishing a social-first methodology that bolsters brand presence, encourages genuine engagement, and advances broader marketing objectives. The employer specializes in crafting functional, fiber-filled, low-sugar tonic beverages designed to offer a modern alternative to traditional sodas.
This position suits an experienced social media professional who understands how to build distinct points of view and cultural relevance rather than simply managing basic content tasks. The person selected will report directly to the Senior Director of PR and Communications. Responsibilities include defining overarching channel strategies, steering creative development from initial brief to execution, tracking platform trends, and serving as a senior voice regarding internet culture and audience behaviors.
The role requires deep expertise in managing social channels across major digital networks, robust cross-functional collaboration skills, and a strong background in consumer packaged goods. Candidates will work with a nationwide team dedicated to transparency, trust, and impactful brand storytelling. The organization fosters a fast-paced, collaborative environment where team members balance long-term planning with the agility needed to respond to real-time cultural moments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the primary social media strategy and vision across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Meta, and LinkedIn
- Lead the creation of social-first creative ideas, campaigns, and content calendars tailored to specific platform behaviors
- Partner closely with brand, creative, influencer, PR, and partnership teams to execute integrated marketing initiatives
- Monitor cultural shifts, internet trends, and audience behaviors to identify new opportunities for brand participation
- Manage, mentor, and develop a growing team of social media professionals, community managers, and content creators
- Establish clear social key performance indicators and measurement frameworks aligned with business goals
- Communicate performance metrics, audience insights, and strategic recommendations regularly to senior leadership
- Provide guidance on potential cultural or social risks and collaborate on issue management when necessary
Requirements
- Ten or more years of professional experience working in social media, communications, brand marketing, or a related discipline
- Five or more years of direct experience leading, developing, and managing teams of social media professionals and content creators
- Demonstrated history of building strategic, creative, and innovative social programs that drive audience engagement
- Comprehensive knowledge of major social platforms, algorithms, best practices, policies, and emerging digital trends
- Professional background within the consumer packaged goods industry
Qualifications
- Experience working within an advertising, creative, public relations, or social agency
- Prior background managing external agencies, creators, production partners, or other outside social resources
