Job Description

The organization is looking for a Director, Software Engineering, Agent Platform to guide the Agent Platform division. This group manages the core control plane responsible for agent configuration, communication, health, and detection services that translate agent telemetry into customer protection. This position operates within the United States, specifically requiring residency in either the Central or Eastern time zones to maintain effective collaboration with globally distributed engineering teams across the Czech Republic, India, Israel, and the United States.
The role involves managing a distributed organization of approximately 45 engineers spread across four teams, overseeing four engineering managers. Primary duties include directing end-to-end domain operations, steering ongoing reliability initiatives, scaling observability tools, and guiding the transition from a monolithic control plane toward container-based, regionally deployed services. The selected individual will balance feature delivery, re-architecture, and operational stability, establish a stronger senior engineering presence within the United States during domestic business hours, and serve as a technical representative for executive leadership and enterprise, MSSP, and federal customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end domain delivery, quality, operational health, and roadmap commitments for the Agent Platform group
- Drive reliability initiatives by decreasing incident volume, meeting deadlines for corrective actions, and enhancing proactive observability
- Supervise, mentor, and build leadership depth across four engineering managers located in multiple geographies
- Represent the technical domain to executive leadership and clients during incidents, regular forums, and enterprise or federal customer discussions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, site reliability engineering, architecture groups, and endpoint teams
- Execute the migration of the control plane from a monolith to regional, horizontally scalable services running on modern container infrastructure
- Handle capacity planning and headcount forecasting while balancing feature delivery, reliability, and architectural upgrades
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 3 years of management experience leading multiple teams through subordinate managers in a cloud infrastructure or SaaS setting
- Demonstrated experience running a high-availability software-as-a-service platform in production environments
- Technical background in distributed backend systems at scale, multi-tenancy, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes
- Residency in the United States within the Eastern or Central time zones
Qualifications
- Prior domain experience in cybersecurity
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
