This position centers on managing and expanding fundraising initiatives, including digital campaigns and direct mail efforts. The professional in this role will work to convert readers and one-time givers into repeat donors and recurring members, overseeing programs such as the Ballotpedia Society, the ad-free reader membership, online giving, and seasonal appeals. Responsibilities include drafting donor-centric communications, executing testing strategies to improve conversion rates, coordinating mailing vendors, overseeing gift processing, and tracking performance metrics using databases like Salesforce, Classy, and WhatCounts.

Responsibilities
- Manage and grow membership and recurring giving initiatives like the Ballotpedia Society and the ad-free reader program
- Plan and execute direct mail appeals, pledge drives, Giving Tuesday, and 12 Days of Ballotpedia campaigns
- Draft donor-centered fundraising copy to attract new supporters, retain current members, and re-engage lapsed donors
- Run and optimize testing strategies aimed at increasing online giving, conversion rates, and retention
- Coordinate mailing vendors, campaign schedules, and audience segmentation
- Identify and research potential donor prospects for follow-up by the Director of External Relations
- Handle gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and payment-related issues
- Produce regular performance reports with revenue goals and growth recommendations
- Maintain records and donor data in WhatCounts, Salesforce, and Classy
- Oversee on-site advertising vendors to optimize revenue and performance
- Collaborate with Tech, Communications, and Content teams to coordinate outreach and improve the donor experience
- Work with the COO on advertising revenue goals and with Tech on ad placement improvements
Requirements
- Possess a computer with internet access
- Be proficient with donor databases like Salesforce, along with email and online giving platforms such as Classy and WhatCounts
- Bring experience in fundraising, donor engagement, membership programs, or related marketing functions
- Demonstrate strong research, written, and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable evaluating campaign results and trends using spreadsheets and data
