Job Description
Certara is seeking an Ecosystem Sales, Integrated R&D professional to join its Transformative Growth team on a full-time, remote basis. Certara provides biosimulation software, technology, and services designed to help over 2,400 biopharmaceutical companies, regulatory agencies, and academic institutions across 70 countries improve drug discovery and development. The organization utilizes data, modeling, analytics, and artificial intelligence to help clients lower costs and raise the likelihood of successful drug commercialization and approval.
This senior individual contributor position focuses on securing large, multi-year, multi-portfolio agreements that span the entire drug development lifecycle, from initial discovery through regulatory approval and market access. Rather than selling single products, the role combines software and services into comprehensive solutions for biotech and pharmaceutical clients, often incorporating alliance and channel partners within the Certara ecosystem. The professional collaborates closely with regional account teams, Global Account Directors, and Portfolio Leaders to drive deal strategy, engage executive buyers, and structure complex agreements.
The ideal candidate brings extensive enterprise sales experience within the life sciences sector, a deep grasp of the drug development pipeline, and a history of closing large-scale, multi-element contracts across matrixed environments.
Responsibilities
- Identify, shape, and win multi-portfolio opportunities that cover discovery, preclinical, clinical, regulatory, and post-approval needs
- Position combined software, modeling, simulation, regulatory, and consulting capabilities against client business goals
- Build and maintain executive relationships with R&D, clinical development, regulatory, and procurement leadership at biotech and pharmaceutical clients
- Assemble pursuit teams across Portfolio Leaders, Solutions Consultants, delivery leads, Commercial Operations, Legal, and Finance
- Lead customer conversations and deal strategy while coordinating account ownership and shared bookings credit with regional heads and account directors
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Finance, and Legal to structure pricing, contract terms, and agreements
- Develop and manage alliance, channel, and ecosystem partner relationships within approved governance rules
- Maintain up-to-date CRM records, deliver accurate forecasts, and participate in business and pipeline reviews
- Gather and share customer and market feedback regarding integrated R&D buying trends with the commercial strategy team
Requirements
- At least 12 years of enterprise sales, business development, or account leadership experience selling complex software or scientific and consulting services to pharmaceutical or biotech companies
- Track record of closing large, multi-year, multi-million-dollar deals that combine software and services
- Deep understanding of the drug discovery and development process from discovery through regulatory submission and market access
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior R&D and executive buyers
- Experience leading complex pursuits across a matrixed organization without direct authority
- Familiarity with consultative or value-based selling methodologies and Salesforce CRM
- Strong negotiation, communication, and executive presence
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- Bachelor's degree
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related field
