Responsibilities
- Deliver strategic guidance to internal stakeholders regarding United States employment issues such as hiring, compensation, leave, and terminations.
- Conduct internal investigations related to workplace policy violations, discrimination, harassment, and whistleblower complaints.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various employment agreements, offer letters, and separation documents.
- Update human resources policies and standards to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters alongside external counsel when necessary.
- Support federal contractor compliance obligations including affirmative action program preparation and OFCCP evaluations.
- Provide training sessions for managers and employees on relevant employment topics.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of employment law experience gained at a law firm or within an in-house legal department.
- Active membership in good standing with at least one United States state bar.
- Extensive working knowledge of federal and state employment legislation including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, and Title VII equivalents.
- Demonstrated background in conducting or overseeing workplace investigations.
- Familiarity with federal contractor compliance rules such as VEVRAA and Section 503 requirements.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited academic institution.
