Job Description
Envato is seeking an Engineer III for a full-time, on-site position. Envato supports creative professionals by offering AI tools and world-class creative assets. Within the organization, the Content Management division develops the infrastructure supporting content upload, processing, metadata, storage, distribution, as well as human and AI-assisted review.
This position is designed for an engineer with prior industry experience who wants to work on complex technical problems rather than just processing individual tickets. The role involves taking ownership of projects from initial discussion through to production, building reliable and tested software, and resolving production incidents. Team members collaborate closely with Senior and Lead Engineers through pairing and feedback. The engineering group utilizes an AI-first approach, employing agents for code writing, testing, and review, and encourages experimentation and new ideas.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of features and well-defined projects from initial discussion to production
- Build reliable, well-tested software designed to last
- Understand, properly fix, and improve systems when production issues occur
- Collaborate closely with Lead and Senior Engineers through regular pairing, feedback, and problem-solving
- Experiment with AI agents used for writing, testing, and reviewing code
Requirements
- A few years of software engineering experience
- Strong back-end capability
- Familiarity with clean code principles, sensible trade-offs, and testing
- Interest in practical AI usage supported by personal judgment
Qualifications
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or a comparable framework
- Familiarity with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Buildkite, Datadog, Rollbar, or content-heavy systems
