Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand a technical team building artificial intelligence features and platform capabilities for patient and operations experiences
  • Design, build, and optimize backend systems for artificial intelligence products, encompassing evaluation, prompt management, retrieval, guardrails, and monitoring
  • Establish evaluation standards and practices to measure system quality and safely release updates
  • Manage production operations for artificial intelligence, handling model upgrades, tracking latency and cost trade-offs, and implementing observability
  • Collaborate with clinical, pharmacy, and customer experience teams to ensure proper human-in-the-loop controls and regulatory compliance
  • Facilitate team planning sessions and ceremonies in coordination with product management
  • Brainstorm new initiatives with product managers and designers to shape the artificial intelligence roadmap
  • Participate in technical and business decision-making processes while mentoring other engineers

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience as an engineering leader or manager
  • Hands-on experience deploying machine learning-driven or large language model-based products to production environments
  • Demonstrated expertise regarding system evaluation, measuring quality, and avoiding speculative releases
  • Strong judgment concerning appropriate use cases for artificial intelligence
  • Leadership capabilities focused on unblocking and guiding development teams
  • Clear communication skills for translating technical concepts and collaborating with product groups
  • Familiarity with experimentation, observability, and evaluation tooling
  • Proficiency across both front-end and back-end technology stacks

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a regulated domain such as healthcare, fintech, or insurance
