Job Description
CoreWeave operates as a specialized cloud platform tailored for artificial intelligence workloads, delivering technological infrastructure and capabilities to prominent AI labs, startups, and global enterprises. Founded in 2017 and publicly traded on Nasdaq as CRWV, the organization is currently seeking an Engineering Manager, Launch & Sandboxes to join its IaaS division on a remote, full-time basis.
This position centers on leading a multidisciplinary team responsible for two connected domains: isolated, GPU-enabled execution environments known as Sandboxes, and Launch, which covers compute orchestration, job submission services, and HPC schedulers. The successful candidate will guide engineering efforts linking developer workflows directly to high-performance compute clusters, virtual machines, and HPC nodes.
The role spans the complete product lifecycle, requiring close collaboration with product management to define roadmaps, clear cross-team obstacles, and balance technical health with rapid delivery. Responsibilities also include participating in architectural reviews concerning distributed authentication, billing systems, and container orchestration. The ideal applicant combines backend software development expertise with a strong dedication to mentorship, fostering autonomy, and promoting modern coding workflows within an AI-forward setting.
Compensation for this role ranges from $165,000 to $242,000 per year, supplemented by a discretionary bonus, equity, and comprehensive health and retirement benefits.

- Manage the Launch & Sandboxes engineering team across the entire product lifecycle from roadmap ideation to customer delivery
- Partner closely with product management to prioritize initiatives and navigate competing demands
- Unblock engineers facing cross-team dependencies and guide technical decision-making
- Contribute to architectural discussions involving container orchestration, distributed authentication, and billing infrastructure
- Maintain production reliability, manage technical debt, and oversee on-call rotations
- Mentor engineers at various levels to foster autonomy, leadership, and technical growth
- Champion AI-forward engineering practices and LLM-based coding tools within the team
Requirements
- At least 3 years of engineering management experience shipping infrastructure or platform products
- At least 5 years of prior software engineering experience with deep backend systems background
- Technical fluency in Go, Python, and Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience managing teams responsible for distributed systems in production
- Proven ability to balance product delivery timelines with technical health and reliability
- Background collaborating with product managers on roadmap shaping and prioritization
- Experience growing engineers across different career levels
- Strong communication skills suited for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Capacity to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively within newer product areas
- Eligibility to access export-controlled information under U.S. government regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience with machine learning infrastructure, ML platforms, or developer tools designed for data scientists
- Familiarity with container isolation technologies, compute orchestration, or job scheduling tools
- Experience steering teams through transitions such as early-stage growth or post-acquisition integration
- Background in High-Performance Computing or scientific computing environments
- Familiarity with usage-based pricing infrastructure, metering, or billing systems
- Founding experience or early-stage background taking a product from conception to users
