The organization currently seeks an Engineering Manager to guide the Maps and Search group. This technical leader will oversee the primary property discovery mechanisms across both mobile and web platforms, which handle massive monthly user traffic.
This position requires a hands-on manager who maintains deep coding involvement and utilizes artificial intelligence workflows daily. The successful candidate will steer technical direction, mentor team members, and collaborate alongside product and design departments. Responsibilities include scaling high-throughput search systems, improving relevance and latency, and integrating large language models into user interactions.

Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, onboard, coach, and support the career development of the Maps and Search team members
- Contribute directly through code reviews, system design, architecture decisions, and complex debugging
- Drive the architecture, reliability, latency, and relevance of the real estate search platform
- Improve engagement, lead conversion, and agent workflows across web and mobile discovery surfaces
- Partner with cross-functional teams to incorporate large language models and intelligent ranking into user workflows
- Collaborate with product and design to shape the technical roadmap and manage end-to-end delivery
Requirements
- Have 8 or more years of professional software engineering experience, including significant senior or staff-level tenure
- Possess 2 or more years of engineering management experience
- Bring practical background working on search, relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems
- Demonstrate deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Show experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures within cloud-native environments
- Understand GraphQL, event-driven systems like Kafka, and databases including PostgreSQL and OpenSearch
- Display a track record of operating high-traffic, low-latency production systems at scale
