The organization operates a global R&D footprint and is currently seeking a Network Engineering Manager / Network Team Lead to join its emerging APAC infrastructure team.
This position functions as a player-coach role, blending direct personnel leadership with hands-on technical execution. During the initial year, the selected candidate will spend between fifty and seventy percent of their time on direct engineering tasks, such as designing data center fabrics and troubleshooting critical production issues. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the individual will serve as the primary regional networking authority in the APAC timezone, coordinating regional data center deployments, subsea cables, and carrier interconnections while aligning with engineering headquarters in Europe and North America.
The role suits experienced network professionals with a background in service provider or data center environments who can mentor a small regional team of two to five engineers. The position is remote within the APAC region, with preferred hubs located in Singapore and India, and requires regular travel to regional data center facilities and the company's Amsterdam headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and structurally develop a regional engineering team consisting of two to five junior, mid-level, and senior network engineers across the APAC region.
- Manage regional task planning, backlog prioritization, change review governance, and end-to-end project execution.
- Drive the launch and deployment process for new data centers and customer environments within them.
- Act as the primary regional escalation point for production network incidents.
- Co-own operational hand-off workflows and shared incident coverage with EMEA and United States network teams.
- Partner with global network architecture and R&D teams to adapt core architectural standards to APAC market realities and carrier ecosystems.
- Coordinate with hardware-as-a-service, compute, and cloud platform engineering teams to guarantee timely site bring-up and fabric availability.
- Contribute directly to the design, deployment, and operation of data center fabrics and backbone infrastructure.
- Oversee and contribute to network automation pipelines, tooling, and observability development.
Requirements
- Expert-level technical background in service provider or data center Clos networks.
- Proficiency with BGP, IS-IS, Segment Routing, and advanced traffic balancing.
- Experience with Ethernet switching, EVPN-VXLAN architectures, and layer 3 VPNs.
- Proven track record as a technical lead, lead engineer, staff engineer, or people manager leading mid-to-senior engineering teams.
- Familiarity with vendor ecosystems including Juniper, Arista, Cisco, and NVIDIA.
- Authorization to work in the country of application.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with GPU clusters, RoCEv2, ECN, or InfiniBand networks.
- Solid understanding of public cloud networking models and software-defined networking overlays.
- Proficiency in Python or Go for infrastructure automation and production tooling within Linux environments.
