Job Description
Givebutter is recruiting an Engineering Manager to head its Treasury pod, the team that builds financial infrastructure for nonprofit customers. The manager reports to the VP of Engineering, turns the product vision into delivery, and helps grow a stronger engineering culture around payments, money movement and compliance.
The job is hands-on. The manager writes code, reviews pull requests, pairs with engineers, prototypes when requirements are unclear, and stays close to production by watching systems and taking part in incident response. Responsibilities include shaping the Treasury engineering plan, guiding full-stack engineers who build wallet functions, payment tools and financial dashboards, and pushing forward same-day ACH transfers, card issuing and accounting software links. The manager also works on ways for nonprofits to earn returns on their balances, while keeping the architecture secure, dependable and able to grow.
Ideal candidates bring seven or more years of full-stack work in tools such as React, TypeScript or PHP with Laravel, and at least two years of leading five or more engineers. Experience designing payment or fintech systems, a firm grasp of financial controls and data accuracy, and a record of recruiting and developing distributed teams are all wanted. Givebutter is a nonprofit fundraising and donor management platform that is free for organizations, funded through optional tips or transparent fees, and it has earned Great Place to Work certification each year since 2021.
