This full-time remote role starts in November 2026 and is based out of Latin America. Responsibilities
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between English-speaking and Portuguese-speaking individuals using consecutive interpretation techniques
- Handle over-the-phone and video remote interpretation assignments across medical, financial, customer care, and social service settings
- Maintain impartiality, professionalism, accuracy, and strict confidentiality during all sessions
- Complete recruitment, technical verification, and client onboarding requirements prior to the assigned start date
Requirements
- Minimum of six months of verifiable professional experience in remote OPI and/or VRI interpretation
- Advanced English fluency at a minimum C1 level with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Native or native-level Portuguese fluency with strong active listening and comprehension abilities
- Strong knowledge of medical, financial, and social service terminology
- Understanding of patient privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA-related requirements
- Ability to work independently in a quiet, distraction-free environment
- Reliable wired internet connection utilizing an Ethernet cable connected directly to the router or modem
- Approved client-compatible USB headset such as specific models from Logitech, Jabra, Microsoft, Plantronics, Dell, or HP
- Computer equipped with an Intel Core i5 6th generation or newer processor
- Webcam with 720p or 1080p resolution and an updated web browser such as Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, or Firefox
