Heluna Health seeks an Executive Director for the Health Consortium of Greater San Gabriel Valley, a collaborative network operating within Los Angeles County Service Planning Area 3. Established in 2000, the network works to improve health equity, access, and culturally responsive services by uniting healthcare providers, community agencies, and regional partners. In this full-time role, the Executive Director delivers strategic leadership, financial oversight, and administrative management to advance regional health initiatives.
The position suits an independent professional experienced in coalition building, grant development, and nonprofit management. The Executive Director partners closely with steering committees, fiscal sponsors, and stakeholders to manage daily operations, facilitate meetings, coordinate the Annual Summit, and oversee the Food for All San Gabriel Valley Program. While the position is remote, it requires some local travel within the San Gabriel Valley area.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and foster collaboration among hospitals, health systems, and community organizations
- Serve as the operational liaison between the Health Consortium and its fiscal sponsor, Heluna Health
- Develop and monitor annual operating and grant budgets while ensuring responsible financial stewardship
- Identify funding opportunities, write competitive grant proposals, and submit accurate reports to funders
- Oversee program implementation timelines, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Lead planning and implementation of the Annual Summit, including logistics, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement
- Manage staff, consultants, and subcontractors while supporting recruitment and professional development
- Maintain communication with stakeholders through newsletters, websites, and community outreach
Requirements
- At least five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit management, healthcare, public health, behavioral health, or coalition leadership
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-sector partnerships and collaborative initiatives
- Experience with grant writing, grant administration, and fund development
- Experience developing and monitoring organizational budgets
- Experience planning conferences, summits, or large stakeholder convenings
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation for required local travel
- Successful background check clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Public Policy, or a related field preferred
