Job Description
This full-time, on-site Federal Account Executive position supports Elastic's work with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The role covers Treasury and its sub-agencies, with most attention on the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), the OCC, the Fiscal Service, along with the U.S. Mint.
The person in this role would grow adoption of Elastic's search, security, and observability products across Treasury and its associated financial regulatory bureaus. Much of the work involves helping agencies meet federal logging and security requirements, including OMB M-21-31, and replacing legacy SIEM and monitoring tools such as Splunk. The job is a complex federal sales role that means managing deals from first contact to close, using federal procurement routes such as GSA, NASA SEWP, and agency-specific IDIQ contracts.
Elastic describes itself as the Search AI Company, with a platform used across major federal departments. The posting notes that the team is part of a GEO of the Year winning group. It is aimed at experienced federal civilian sellers who already understand the Treasury buying environment and can work with its prime contractors and system integrators. Candidates are expected to bring a record of multi-million-dollar deals and relationships with agency buyers.
Responsibilities
- Expand use of Elastic search, security, and observability solutions within Treasury, the IRS, and related financial regulatory bureaus
- Run land-and-expand plans that swap out aging SIEM and monitoring vendors to reduce total cost of ownership
- Partner with agency leadership, enterprise architects, and CISO/CIO groups on search, logging, APM, and threat hunting
- Manage federal sales cycles through GSA, NASA SEWP, and agency-specific IDIQ routes
- Present Elastic's commercial features and cloud offerings alongside its open-source roots
- Build territory plans with systems integrators, resellers, cloud partners, and federal channel programs
Requirements
- Track record of quota overachievement and multi-million-dollar enterprise SaaS or cloud deals with federal civilian agencies
- Hands-on selling history with Treasury itself or the IRS, plus relationships with buyers and integrators
- Practical grasp of search, log analytics, SIEM, APM, observability, and cloud design
- Ability to sell to both technical staff such as developers and SOC analysts and to executive decision-makers
- Disciplined pipeline management and forecasting in Salesforce
- Strong record of career stability and sustained progression
Qualifications
- Track record displacing incumbent SIEM vendors like Splunk or QRadar, or monitoring tools, in federal agencies
- Knowledge of federal security standards, OMB directives, Zero Trust, and FedRAMP-hosted deployments
- Connections across Treasury's prime contractor and integrator community
- Appreciation for open-source software and the community that depends on it
