Job Description
This full-time, on-site Federal Account Executive role at Elastic centers on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The main targets are HHS headquarters, CMS (the Medicare and Medicaid agency), and CDC (the public health agency), with additional work across smaller units including SAMHSA, AHRQ, ASPR, ARPA-H, and OIG.
The position is a quota-carrying sales role in federal civilian accounts. The person in this role would grow use of Elastic's search, security, and observability products for disease surveillance, outbreak response, and health financing work. A large part of the job is helping agencies meet federal logging and security requirements, including OMB M26-14, while replacing legacy SIEM and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
Elastic presents itself as the Search AI Company, with a platform used by more than half of the Fortune 500 and by major federal departments. The posting suits experienced federal sellers who have closed large software deals with civilian agencies and who understand how HHS, CMS, or CDC buy technology. Work is matrixed, so the seller coordinates many internal teams from first conversation through close.
Responsibilities
- Grow use of Elastic's search, security, and observability products in major HHS operating divisions
- Run land-and-expand plans that swap out aging SIEM and monitoring vendors to reduce total cost of ownership
- Advise agency leaders and CIO, CISO, and CDO teams on search, log analytics, APM, and threat hunting
- Manage complex federal sales cycles through GSA, NASA SEWP, and agency-specific IDIQ contract routes
- Present Elastic's commercial features and cloud offerings alongside its open-source foundation
- Build territory plans with systems integrators, resellers, cloud partners, and federal channel programs
Requirements
- Track record of exceeding quota and closing multi-million-dollar enterprise SaaS or cloud deals with federal civilian agencies
- Hands-on sales history with HHS HQ, CMS, or CDC, including relationships with buyers and program managers
- Practical grasp of search, log analytics, SIEM, APM, observability, and cloud design
- Ability to sell to both technical staff such as developers and SOC analysts and to executive decision-makers
- Disciplined pipeline management and sales forecasting in Salesforce
- Strong record of career stability and sustained progression with past employers
Qualifications
- Prior wins against incumbent SIEM platforms like Splunk or QRadar in federal health settings
- Knowledge of federal security standards, OMB directives, Zero Trust, FedRAMP-hosted deployments, and health data privacy rules
- Relationships already in place with prime contractors and health IT integrators serving HHS HQ, CMS, and CDC
- Appreciation for open-source software and the community that depends on it
Core Skills
Benefits
- Eligibility for Elastic's stock program
- 401(k) employer match, dollar for dollar, capped at 6% of eligible pay
