Zopa is seeking a Finance Systems Analyst to join its Finance Systems team in London on a hybrid basis. In this role, you will support the data flows and systems relied upon by the finance function for reporting and business changes. Working at the intersection of Finance, Technology, and Product, you will help translate evolving requirements into practical solutions while the company invests in a new general ledger and data platform. This position suits individuals who understand accounting and reporting processes, enjoy investigating ambiguous problems, and approach system modifications with careful attention to testing, documentation, and controls.
The hybrid schedule requires attendance at the London office two to three days per week. Additional perks include the option to work from abroad for up to 120 days annually, subject to having the correct work authorization in the chosen country.
Responsibilities
- Monitor finance systems, examine alerts, and assist in resolving issues impacting reporting and data flows
- Execute system administration duties and month-end controls while documenting changes and access
- Trace the root causes of data and reconciliation problems to propose practical resolutions
- Collaborate with colleagues across Technology, data, and Finance to establish priorities and understand needs
- Aid in testing and preparation activities for the upcoming general ledger and broader system updates
- Handle new reporting demands and product launches by balancing short-term fixes with long-term enhancements
- Identify automation opportunities backed by appropriate checks and controls
Requirements
- Comprehend finance, accounting, and reporting processes to apply that expertise to data or systems challenges
- Ability to investigate unclear issues and communicate findings and recommendations clearly
- Approach system modifications with careful attention to testing, documentation, and controls
- Manage competing requests and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Take ownership of tasks, seek support when necessary, and demonstrate eagerness to learn new systems and workflows
- Attend the London office two to three days per week
Qualifications
- Experience administering finance systems or supporting SAP
- Working knowledge of SQL, data visualization, or cross-source reconciliations
- Exposure to financial services, regulated environments, or ERP migrations
- Experience utilizing automation, AI, Snowflake, Python, or dbt
