Job Description
Namecheap, Inc., a prominent provider of domain registration, hosting, and privacy solutions with millions of global customers and over 32 million domains managed, seeks a Financial Controller. This 100% remote, full-time position requires working hours with an overlap between US Eastern Time and EU business hours. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role suits a hands-on finance leader eager to design accounting systems from the ground up rather than maintaining inherited frameworks.
The position centers on rebuilding the accounting function from first principles during an ambitious period of commercial scale. Responsibilities include migrating away from legacy tooling onto a modern, AI-native ERP, achieving full US GAAP compliance, and designing an automated operating model. The selected candidate will overhaul the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, manage multi-currency and high-volume transaction flows, and lead an established accounting team toward a leaner, more senior structure.
Compensation includes competitive pay alongside potential equity as the profitable, private equity-backed business moves into its next phase of growth. Candidates must bring extensive professional accounting experience and a strong background in transformation and systems implementation.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures to deliver accurate consolidated financial statements
- Oversee the general ledger, technical accounting, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and intercompany accounting
- Reconcile high-volume, low-value transaction flows across multiple payment rails including cards, PayPal, crypto, and bank transfers
- Design and execute a right-sized internal controls framework across various entities, currencies, and jurisdictions
- Lead the end-to-end selection and implementation of a modern, AI-native ERP system
- Partner with FP&A for variance analysis and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Develop and mentor an established accounting team within a build-first culture
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant or an equivalent international qualification such as ACCA or CA
- At least 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including time as a Controller or Assistant Controller
- Professional training at a top-tier global accounting firm with multi-entity consolidations and multi-currency exposure
- Deep expertise in technical accounting standards including ASC 606, ASC 350, ASC 830, and ASC 805
- Hands-on experience leading or heavily contributing to a major ERP implementation
- Available for working hours that overlap US Eastern Time and EU business hours
Qualifications
- Experience managing high-volume, low-ACV transaction flows within e-commerce, subscription, SaaS, or marketplace industries
Core Skills
Benefits
- Potential equity in a growth-stage company
- Compensation set well above typical early-stage benchmarks
